Owner Chris Davies and her staff invite you to experience Heritage Designs, a destination for quilters, stitchers and those who love the needle arts.

Established in 1976, this family business has blossomed into a full service shop featuring quilting, cross stitch, punchneedle, embroidery and tatting supplies. In 2009 Heritage Designs was selected as a Top 10 Quilt Shop by Quilt Sampler magazine and will appear in the Spring/Summer 2009 issue.

The shop is known throughout the Midwest for an extensive collection of batik fabrics and Asian prints. Other fabrics include a treasury of reproduction lines including Civil War and 1930s, as well as a wide variety of basic lines and classic favorites. A unique feature to the shop is the impressive selection of Lecien fabrics, an exclusive line from Japan. There is something for every taste.

The shop is located in eastern Iowa in the historic Amana Colonies, seven German villages, whose old world charm, rich history, and array of unique shops featuring many handcrafted skills, restaurants and unlimited experiences enhance the enjoyment of visiting Heritage Designs. The shop has made its home in an 1895 Amana granary, renovated to preserve the building’s original architecture and atmosphere. The ample space is perfect for the shop’s hundreds of sample pieces and over 3500 bolts of fabric. Browse a wide selection of quilt kits, patterns, books and notions including Dovo scissors and other unique accessories.
